The Kerala Cultural Forum has awarded the prestigious Satyan prize for excellence in acting to veteran film star Jagathy Sreekumar.He has starred in over 1200 Malayalam films and is still going strong in the Malayalam film industry.
Awards He won the State Award for Second Best Actor in 2002 for Nizhalkkuthu, Meesha Madhavan (2002),Apoorvam Silar (1991) and Kilukkam (1988). He won maiden Sathyan Memorial Award in 2005. He won the Prem Nazir Award in 2005 for his contribution to Malayalam cinema spanning three decades. Kerala film critics award 2007 for second best actor for Classmates, Palungu and Vaastavam.
